SUMMARY

The Member Services Intake Specialist is the first point of contact for members who need assistance with the initial file setup, have inquiries or require assistance with their balance bill submissions, all while fulfilling the mission of ELAP Services, LLC.  This detail-oriented position works closely with Member Service Advocates and other internal/external counterparts to ensure and facilitate timely and accurate workflow administration, data integrity and a positive member experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist members with their initial setup of their balance bills and respond to inquiries related to the balance bill management process
  • Accurately initiate member balance bill/account information into ELAP's database with a focus on quality, management of established turnaround SLA's and proper coordination of issue resolution
  • Communicate with the ELAP Audit Team and our third-party partners to obtain all documentation related to a member's balance bill
  • Responsible for the workflow and distribution of balance bill inquiries to the Member Services Advocates
  • Track status and resolution of balance bill setup inquiries and issues
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and follow-up diaries during all stages of the process
  • Collaborate with other internal functions to address service issues and process/systemic enhancement opportunities
  • Apply strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Some college preferred, high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service position, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Computer skills proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel as well as internet navigation
  • Experience in healthcare or billing environments a plus
